PROJECT 1: APPLES
Materials:
Acrylic paint, canvas 12 X 16, Small brush
Year:
2018-2019
Class:
Art Foundations
Artist Statement:
I made this art piece because I wanted to show what it look like being "singled" out or counted out and being different. It inspired me because all my life I have been different because of my race and where I came from and I feel like other people can relate to what I went through. I made a canvas and used red paint for the apples and black and white together to mix colors. For the main part of the big apple I used multiple shades of blue and blended them together to make it unique. My art work means a lot to me and when I mean a lot I mean it shows me a message whether or not it shows someone else a message. If it doesn't show someone else a meaning then that's okay because as long as I can relate and know the meaning behind it, it will mean something to me.

I made this art piece because I wanted to show how sadness can't stop you from being happy. This inspired me because we all have sad time in our life and think that we can't be happy when there is always a way out of the "darkness". The main point in this would be the heart cause we all have a heart that we can heal it just takes time that's why the band aid is there to show that our hearts will heal and we will be happier at the end of that tunnel. This one means a lot to me because of the people in my life that have hard times and had to fight through it. I connect with this more emotionally cause of how everyone in my life has been.

PROJECT 3: POWER
2019Materials:

Artist Statement:
This art work I tried my hardest on because I relate to it so much. As a girl you may have gotten told 'you can't do that you are a girl.' I get told that almost everyday by people who think doing things is just for boys or doing something just for girls. You can think of this art as something different and think of it as a male body cause I also know that guys get told that they can't do something they love because it's for girls. I found this one the most touching out of all them because of how it was and how anyone and everyone can relate to it.
